Hon. Maria Elvira Salazar, US House FL27, has drafted the “Dignity Act”, legislation to address the immigration crisis more humanely than through indiscriminate mass deportation.

Rep. Salazar has thus far avoided town hall meetings with constituents but she has sent staffers out to hold small meetings with constituents interested in the “Dignity Act”.

Rep. Salazar’s proposed legislation has not had a hearing in the House, and it’s hard to see how it could get one as long as Steven Miller continues to push President Trump’s buttons to pull Speaker Mike Johnson’s strings. If Rep. Salazar is truly serious about getting her legislation through, she has plenty of leverage she could deploy in the betterment of people’s lives. Given the slim GOP House majority, the White House (what’s left of it) and the Speaker absolutely need her vote.
